   Proposal Description:
   The proposed project will focus on identifying differences in cognitive performance of older adult minority groups such as Hispanics. Research has often taken into account the primary language of individuals. However, the amount of time spent in the US can affect performance in cognitive measures for a number of reasons, including knowledge of western constructs. This project will explore whether the amount of time spent in the US, language spoken, and bilingualism affects performance in specific cognitive measures. With the many neurocognitive disorders being developed in later life and minority groups being largely affected by them it is important to accurately measure deficits in cognition. The purpose for this study is to advance the understanding of neuropsychological data in the context of specific minority groups demographics.
